Absences

Please call the Attendance line @ 286-1956 ext. 300 before 10:00 AM to report a student that will be out sick.

If your child has been absent you will need to send a note to the office or his/her teacher the day he/she return to school to have the absence excused.

 Visting the Classroom

Parents are always welcome to visit our classrooms; however, please do not drop in for an impromptu visit.  An unexpected visitor sometimes distracts both the children and the teacher, and interrupts the flow of the lesson.  If you wish to schedule a classroom visit or conference, please contact your child's teacher in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

Tardies

All students arriving after 9:00 AM are tardy. They must check in at the office to receive a tardy slip to remove the absence from their record.

Dropping off and Picking Students up

School hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  We ask that students not be dropped off before 8:35 AM.

NEW Early Dismissal procedures: If you come into the building to pick up your child after 3:00 PM, we ask that you understand that we will not call children to the office for dismissal until 3:25.  All students and staff will be participating in STAR TIME (Students and Teachers are Reading) each afternoon from 3:15-3:25.  We would like this to be a protected time.

If you are picking your child up early from school, please send a note to the teacher re:Early Dismissal for the day or you can call the office. We will call the student up to the office when you arrive for early pick up, so the child will not miss class time. Remember that when picking up your child early, he/she may be missing important instructional time.

Regular Car Rider Information

Car riders are released at 3:25 PM to the activity room. Each child and vehicle will have corresponding numbers. Please have your numbers visible in your windshield so that students can be promptly delivered to you. Your child/children will not be released to anyone whose name has not been provided on the regular car rider form. You will need to send a note or call if someone else will be picking up your child/children. If no note or call is made then they will need to be picked up in the office. At 4:00 PM any students that have not been picked up at the activity room exit, may be picked up in the front office.
