Greetings from Rocky Run Elementary School, Home of the Bulldogs, where you will find a staff committed to nurturing the desire to learn in all students. Expectations are high as teachers strive to meet the needs of all learners through caring, creativity, and dedication.
At Rocky Run we believe in all kids and address their many needs. There are many extracurricular activities to serve that purpose including: chorus, orff ensembles, art club, chess club, reading club, punt/pass/kick competition, “fowl” shot competition, and much more. We work hard at developing a sense of community.
Our staff will work very hard to provide a comfortable and secure environment for our students. To maintain such a safe place, we need to know who is in our building at all times. All visitors will be asked to provide identification at the front desk upon entering the building. This is a Stafford County Public Schools policy. Only parents who are scheduled to volunteer in the classroom will be permitted to go to the room during the school day. Thank you for assisting us in keeping our students safe as well as protecting valuable teaching time.
For those parents planning to pick up their child on a regular basis, we ask that you register to be a regular car rider. Car riders must be dropped off at the designated place. PLEASE do not drop your child off in the parking lot. Children needing to leave early for an appointment must be checked out at the front office. If you come into the building to pick up your child after 3:00, we ask that you understand that we will not call children to the office for dismissal until 3:25. All students and staff will be participating in STAR TIME (Students and Teachers are Reading) each afternoon from 3:15-3:25. We would like this to be a protected time. We appreciate your cooperation.
I look forward to working with each of you. It will take a strong partnership between home and school to ensure that we reach every child in every class every day. You can help at home by monitoring your child’s homework and having them spend time each night reading. Have a super school year!
Sincerely, JoAnne E. Baker |

Hello and welcome to Rocky Run Elementary where We Believe In All Kids. I am so happy to be a part of the Bulldog family of learners!! Our teachers and staff are truly committed to the success of each and every one of our children. Parents, we look forward to seeing your smiling faces at school and school sponsored events throughout the year. Please take time throughout the year to pay a visit or help out in a classroom. Our teachers do a great job and your assistance makes a major difference. Remember to ask your child about their day and review assignments and nightly homework with your child daily; it makes a huge difference and helps to keep your student on track all year.
When parents make school a TOP priority, students make school a TOP priority. Always communicate with us when concerns arise. Remember our children need an effective school-home connection in order to reach their fullest potential. Continue to read to and with your child. Children who read regularly read better. Thank You for sharing your children with us. Have a Phenomenal school year!!
Sincerely,
Keana S. Butler |
